Questions

The things worth asking before you connect anything

Short answers, including the unflattering ones. If something here is wrong, tell us and we will change it.

Is it safe?

Judge it on what it asks you to sign, not on what we say. A DustJar claim is made only of standard Solana instructions: close an empty token account, withdraw the excess above the rent minimum, and, if you explicitly tick the box, burn a worthless token. There is no DustJar program on chain. We never take custody, never ask for a token approval or delegate, and never ask you to sign a message.

Your wallet simulates every transaction before you approve it. A DustJar claim shows SOL coming in. If you ever see a token leaving, or SOL going anywhere except our disclosed fee wallet or a destination you chose, refuse it and tell us.

Has it been audited?

No, and we will say so plainly until it has been. There is no on-chain program of ours to audit, which removes the largest category of risk, but the frontend and the transaction builder have not been reviewed by a third party. Neither has any competitor in this category, as far as we can tell. A third-party audit is on the roadmap before we push for serious volume.

Why does my wallet say this site is malicious?

Because the domain was registered on 5 September 2026 and wallet blocklists treat new domains as guilty until reviewed. We have asked Phantom to review it. That is the honest and complete answer.

It is not a reason to ignore your wallet's warnings in general. It is a reason to read the transaction: the balance change your wallet shows is the thing that cannot lie.

How much will I get?

Usually a few dollars to a few tens of dollars: a typical wallet holds 0.01 to 0.2 SOL in recoverable rent. Developers with failed program deploys can have several SOL sitting in buffer accounts. Scan first, decide after. Scanning costs nothing and needs no wallet.

What does it cost?

1.5% of what is recovered, charged inside the same transaction and only on what actually comes back. Recover nothing, pay nothing. You also pay Solana's network fee of about 0.000005 SOL per transaction, which goes to the network rather than to us. If our fee would be too small for the network to process, we waive it instead of failing your claim.

Will I lose my tokens?

Not unless you tick the burn box. Closing empty accounts and trimming overfunded ones destroys nothing: the accounts are either empty already, or keep their balance and simply give back the excess deposit. Burning is the one permanent action, it is off by default, and it only ever applies to tokens no aggregator will buy that are worth under a dollar.

Can I scan a wallet I do not own?

Yes. Scanning reads public chain data, so any address works. Claiming is different: only the wallet that owns an account can sign for it, which the Solana runtime enforces, not us.

Can I do several wallets at once?

Yes. Paste as many addresses as you like, and connect as many wallets as you like; both go into the same scan. Claiming is one approval per wallet, because a wallet app can only sign for the account it is currently on. You can also send everything to a single destination wallet, which happens inside the same transaction, so it costs no extra fee and no extra approval.

What happens if a transaction fails?

Nothing is lost. A transaction either lands completely or does not happen at all; there is no partial state. Every batch is simulated before you are shown it, and confirmed on chain before the next one is sent. If an approval takes long enough for the transaction to expire, we rebuild what is left and ask you once more rather than leaving the job half done.

Who is behind it?

A small independent team, building in the open. We are not going to pretend to be larger than we are. What we can offer instead of a company page is that everything the site does is visible in the transaction your wallet shows you before you approve it.

How do I get in touch?

Email help@dustjar.xyz. That reaches us for support, bug reports and security findings alike. If you have found something that puts funds at risk, say so in the subject line and we will treat it first.

What about Ethereum and the other chains?

Scanning works on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon and BNB Chain today: you can see every token and what it is worth. Selling that dust for USDC is built and in testing: the planner prices each token, refuses anything that looks like a honeypot or costs more gas than it is worth, and quotes you the guaranteed amount rather than the optimistic one. What is still to come is batching, so a whole chain takes one approval instead of one per token. Solana rent is what you can claim right now.
